Attorney General Conway Receives $3.94 Million Grant to Take Kentucky's eWarrants System into Rural Areas
Attorney General Jack Conway announced today that his office has received a $3.94 million grant from the American Resource and Recovery Act (ARRA) to expand Kentucky's electronic warrant management (eWarrants) system. The Office of the Attorney General will work closely with the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), Kentucky Office of Homeland Security, Kentucky State Police and Kentucky's County Attorneys to install the eWarrants system in nearly all of the state's rural counties.
Governor Beshear Announces Expansion of Print Fulfillment Services in Louisville

COVINGTON, Ky. (September 10, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear today joined state and local officials to mark the opening of a life science accelerator building that provides offices and laboratory space for start-up biotechnology companies developing anti-cancer drugs, genetic tests and medical instruments. The building will also serve as the new U.S. headquarters for bioLOGIC Corporation, a global life science accelerator company with offices worldwide. bioLOGIC, one of the owners of the facility, has already helped bring several biotech companies to Kentucky.
Kentucky school districts to receive federal funds to purchase new hybrid electric school buses
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky school districts will benefit from $12.9 million in federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds to purchase new hybrid electric school buses. Kentucky will replace about 200 diesel-powered units in school bus fleets statewide with Type C-Charge Sustaining Hybrid Electric school buses. The procurement process will begin in October, and school districts that intend to purchase new buses may choose hybrid electric vehicles at that time.
Gov. Beshear forms Executive Task Force on Biomass and Biofuels Development in Kentucky

Revenue cabinet launches new Comprehensive Tax System
The Kentucky Department of Revenue has launched its new Comprehensive Tax System (CTS). The new web based computer system allows the Finance and Administration Cabinet to enhance the administration and collection of revenues using optimal processes and technology to benefit the citizens of the Commonwealth. CTS, which debuted on August 21, will also improve taxpayer assistance and provide secure self-service access to taxpayer information via the Internet.
